Atelier Populaire, an organic cosmetics manufacturer founded in 2018, has its own workshop at 134 rue d'Aubervilliers in Paris's 19th arrondissement. We began by launching a range of superfatted cold-process soaps, before introducing other cosmetics. Our conviction? Organic cosmetics should combine local production and clear commitments with pleasure and effectiveness.
Why Atelier Populaire?
Our Paris workshop grew out of a desire to rethink organic cosmetics by bringing a modern approach to traditional craftsmanship. Although we did not experience May 1968 ourselves, its creative and revolutionary energy inspired us. Atelier Populaire takes its name from the group of fine arts students who produced thousands of posters during the demonstrations. Their graphic style also inspired our first collection, Les Pavés de Paris.
We make our cosmetics from start to finish
At Atelier Populaire, we handle formulation, manufacturing, stamping, packaging, graphic design and communication ourselves. We care about keeping this work in-house. Bringing dedicated craftsmanship back to the heart of Paris means overseeing the entire production process. Our cosmetics are made at our own workshop in the 19th arrondissement, without subcontracting their manufacture.
Who are we?
A dedicated team works every day to care for your skin and the environment. Lorena develops the formulas. Lorena and Anna handle production and packaging. Our graphic designers Marie and Laura create packaging, brochures and communication materials, with Jordan helping to source suppliers. Raeannes and Fatou create photography and video. Claire and Jean look after sales and customer relations, while Lucas and Noa work on communication and events.
